From Ohio’s first game on Thursday, Aug. 31, all the way through the Big Ten championship on Dec 2, Skyloft is offering to be “the home away from home” for Ohio State alumni and Buckeye fans everywhere.
With the most TVs in the city of Laguna Beach (25), Skyloft’s Director of Operations Jonathan Moore says that Buckeye fans are invited to take over the main level bar completely (12 TVs) and, as their numbers increase, they’ll roll into the music lounge area (another 10 TVs) or the main dining room (two giant TVs).
Chef Arthur is introducing at least two Buckeye specials – the Buckeye Burger (smoked brisket piled on his famous burger) and the “TBDBITL” … if you’re true to your Ohio school, you know exactly what that acronym means … but Chef Arthur has replaced just one word (Band) with … Bacon. It’s a Bacon Nachos dish – sheer rhapsody.
Beverage Director, Crafty Mixologist and Resident Beer Guy Louie Palmerin has already created a “Brutus” drink (the mascot with the big nut for a head), a “Scarlet Sky” cocktail, and a bourbon-based “Urban Legend” cocktail (in honor of nationally esteemed Head Coach Urban Meyer).
Palmerin also promises a different craft or draft beer each week. The beer will be priced at just $5 an hour preceding game time (for tailgaters) and throughout every Ohio State game.

A seven-time Na Hoku Hanohano award nominee (Hawai’s, Grammy sponsored music awards), Joseph Soul is no stranger to the Hawai`i music scene. With experience penning songs for Nesian N.I.N.E and Dani Waring, producing the smash hits, “Take You Higher” from Positive Motion and “Tell Me” by Tenelle, and mastering Maoli’s 2010 album “Rock Easy”, it should come as no shock that he wrote, produced, engineered, and mixed his first album almost entirely on his own (DJ Audissey – Overdue). He collaborates with both up-and-coming artists, as well as, seasoned veterans and is constantly searching for new talent to help break into the island music scene.
Ask 18 year old musician/singer/songwriter Andrew Bloom what THE most important motivating factor is in his life and he’ll look you straight in the eye with a great set of baby blues and say, “Well, it’s to play, it’s just. . .to play.”
Don’t be confused though. He does agree that the ultimate goal of the game is to become a star by topping the charts with a hit song, but until that happens, all he wants to do is play music! Oh–and not just in his living room for friends and family. Not even just for a panel of judges on a Reality T.V. competition American Idol. No, what Andrew means when he says “to play” is–to produce music for an audience of people in a concert hall or pub, to entertain, and to get paid for his efforts while doing it. For the record, that’s what he means!
