Joseph Soul

Joseph Soul

Considered one of the most versatile music aficionados to come out of Hawaii, Joseph Soul has been commanding crowds for well over 15 years. Highly touted as a nightclub DJ, his expertise spans more than the distance between two turntables. With his accomplishments as a producer, engineer, and songwriter widely recognized, it is no surprise that he currently earns a living doing just that.
A seven-time Na Hoku Hanohano award nominee (Hawai’s, Grammy sponsored music awards), Joseph Soul is no stranger to the Hawai`i music scene. With experience penning songs for Nesian N.I.N.E and Dani Waring, producing the smash hits, “Take You Higher” from Positive Motion and “Tell Me” by Tenelle, and mastering Maoli’s 2010 album “Rock Easy”, it should come as no shock that he wrote, produced, engineered, and mixed his first album almost entirely on his own (DJ Audissey – Overdue). He collaborates with both up-and-coming artists, as well as, seasoned veterans and is constantly searching for new talent to help break into the island music scene.

Amy Miller is a fast-rising talent on the West Coast and national scene. Originally from Oakland, California Amy found her comedy chops in the Bay Area and is still a regular at the SF Punch Line and Cobb’s Comedy Club. After a move to Portland, Amy quickly rose to the top of the Pacific Northwest comedy scene, winning Portland’s Funniest Comedian in Helium Comedy Club’s contest, as well as being voted Portland’s Funniest 2013 and 2015 in the Willamette Week.

Amy was a breakout favorite in Season 9 of Last Comic Standing. Roseanne Barr called her “a star” and a “contender for next alpha female comedian.” Keenen Ivory Wayans said she had one of the “fiercest jokes he had ever heard.” Amy is currently in LA and works comedy clubs and festivals around the country, working with headliners from Norm Macdonald to Arsenio Hall to singer Ryan Adams.

Damon Wayans Jr’s Comedy Night – Kira Soltanovich

Damon Wayans Jr's Comedy Night - Kira Soltanovich

Kira Soltanovich grew up in San Francisco during a time when there were bad neighborhoods, cheap coffee and it wasn’t ironic to ride the cable cars. She began her comedy career back in 1998 after asking her Russian immigrant parents if they would support her dream to become a stand-up. After her mother and father confessed, “It’s not like you’re smart enough to be a doctor…” Kira took that as their blessing to pursue her dreams and she’s never looked back.

She was a series regular on How To Be A Grownup for TruTV, the hidden camera show Girls Behaving Badly and was a correspondent on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno for over 8 years. Recently, Kira co-hosted the game show Winsanity with Donald Faison for the Game Show Network.

One of Kira’s greatest achievements is shooting her latest 1 Hour Stand Up Special, You Did This To Me, which was completely self-produced and she shot it while over 7 months pregnant. The first stand up comedian to shoot a special pregnant!

Kira has appeared on The Jay Leno Show, Hello Ross! with Ross Mathews, Jimmy Kimmel Live, Last Call with Carson Daly, Hell’s Kitchen, Last Comic Standing, Set List TV, and The World Stands Up on Comedy Central. She has written for Joan Rivers, Scott Baio, Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber. And here’s an interesting fact, three of those people have dated each other.

Kira’s pilot Weren’t You Scott Baio? was optioned by New Line Television, her hidden camera dating show Who’s Got Game? was optioned by MTV and her feature film What’s Your Sign? was optioned by Terra Firma at Universal. For a while there, she and her writing partner were only developing projects that asked a question. Genius, right?

She’s been a writer on Easiest Game Show Ever, How’d You Get So Rich? for TV Land, Warning: Men Thinking, Raising Whitley and Prankstars on Disney.

Her half-hour Showtime special, Here Comes Trouble, won Best Stand Up Special by a Soviet.*

Did you know once the kids who watch Nickelodeon go to sleep, the network changes over to NickMom? Well, it does. Kira is a recurring roundtable comic on Parental Discretion and performed on both seasons the stand-up series NickMom’s Night Out.

Kira’s two children inspired her to have her very own podcast. On The Kira Soltanovich Show, she interviews other fellow comedians who have kids and they discuss all things comedy and colic related.

Anthony Crawford
May 10 @ 9:00 pm
Anthony Crawford

Born June 29th, 1981, Anthony Crawford was raised in a family of talented musicians. His father, funk and rock drummer Hubert (H bomb) Crawford has played with notable greats like James Brown, Cyndi Lauper, Mothers Finest, Mark Farner of the Grandfunk Railroad, The bar kays, and was the original drummer for the Eric Gales Band, while his uncle is the legendary jazz saxophonist Hank Crawford.

With such strong musical influences in his life, Anthony began playing the drums at the tender age of 2. At about 6 years old, he began to attend his father’s performances. It was at this time that Anthony started to visualize and dream of being on stage and playing the drums like his father. Soon after, this young gifted musician entered and won several school talent contests.

It was not until Anthony reached his 12th birthday that he finally picked up the bass for the very first time. He knew, just at that moment that he was meant to be a bass player. He walked away from the drums, never looked back, and began practicing the bass night and day.

When Anthony was 14 he began playing with his father and has set in with the Bette Midler Band. As a freshman in high school, he then met Derrick Dean, keyboardist, and Trevor Taylor, drummer. The trio soon became good friends and decided to form a band. Together they performed at church and for a variety of Memphis community choirs. Through these experiences, Anthony was introduced to many forms of jazz and musical genres.

Musically, Anthony has been greatly influenced by rock bands and bassists like Doug Wimbish, Les Claypool, Doug Pinnick, Metallica, Deep Purple, and Ozzy Osbourne. But the turning point surrounding his musical influences was when he recalls, “I got ‘A Show Of Hands’ by Victor Wooten. That record completely changed my life. I must have learned that whole entire record from beginning to end. That record made me really explore my talent in ways I never thought possible.” It was after this musical experience that he began listening to other great bass players like Stanly Clark, Marcus Miller and Jaco to name a few.

In 2000 post high school graduation, Anthony flew to Los Angeles to play at the National Democratic Convention for Bill Clinton. Two years later he appeared in a Burger King commercial with the basketball star, Shaquille O’Neal. The following year, Anthony released his first record entitled “Satisfied”.

Anthony began playing with the legendary R&B group Shalmor in 2004 and shortly after with Howard Hewett. He also performed with Justin Timberlake. Then he met jazz saxophonist Kirk Whalum. Together the pair performed a few shows and collaborated to create the music for a movie commentary filmed in South Africa.

On January 1st, 2008, Anthony moved to Los Angeles and has been actively performing with notable artists such as Erykah Badu, Peabo Bryson, Jeff Lorber, Dave Weckl, Everette Harp, Frank McComb, gospel legend Andrae Crouch, Karen Briggs, Virgil Donati, guitar legend Allan Holdsworth, Eric Marienthal and has released his solo CD titled “Urban Jazz” available November 9th, 2010. Soon after the release of Anthony Crawford’s solo album, he was featured on the front page of “Top 40 Charts” alone with Stevie Wonder and the MTV Movie Awards. Anthony Crawford was also invited to perform at the 2011 Emmy Awards show. Anthony Crawford is also recognized as “Most Popular Player” on No Treble.com in their “Player Spotlight Section”.

Anthony Crawford is a notable up and coming bassist inspiring generations to come with his unprecedented, eclectic musical talents.
